Attack rating, not guesswork
Affinity, reinforcement, the calc-correct scaling curves and the requirement penalty are all modelled — the number matches the status screen, including the part where falling one point short of a requirement costs you the whole attribute.
Survivability you can read
Negation composes multiplicatively the way the game does it, and the result is stated as effective HP per damage type: the honest answer to how many hits you can take, rather than a percentage that means nothing on its own.
Softcaps marked before you spend
Every attribute shows what the next point buys and where the curve bends. The moment a point stops being worth its runes is visible on the track, not discovered forty levels later.

The most-cloned build in the Lands Between, and deservedly so. Blood-affinity Uchigatana stacks buildup faster than anything at this level can shed it, and the Lord of Blood's Exultation turns every proc into twenty percent more damage for the next twenty seconds. Keep Arcane at 45 — past that the status curve flattens hard and the points are better spent on Vigor.
Sixty Strength, a Heavy-affinity Giant-Crusher, and no interest in dodging. Great-Jar's Arsenal is mandatory — Bull-Goat plate plus a colossal weapon overloads you without it, and even with it you need Endurance in the fifties to hold a medium roll. The off-hand stays empty: you are two-handing everything anyway.
A Sacred-affinity greatsword backed by the two best buffs in the game. Golden Vow and Flame, Grant Me Strength stack to roughly forty percent more damage before you have swung anything, and the Clawmark Seal scales on Strength so nothing is wasted. Faith 55 is the practical ceiling; the incantation curve bends at 50.
